Capabilities:
Network Scanning Scan a range of IP addresses to find connected devices and to test whether a specific port (like MODBUS default 502) is open.
Register Polling Once you find a network connected device with an open port, specify the range of register addresses and function code (Discrete Coils, Discrete Inputs, Input Registers, and Holding Registers) you would like to test. Wiretap systematically tests each register, and register pair, to find 16bit and 32bit return values, while avoiding failed calls due to non-accessible registers in the range.
Data Type Preview For each register scan that returns a value, the result is displayed as INT16, UINT16, INT32, and UINT32.
Serial Listening For serial connected devices that are already communicating with an existing polling device (e.g. a MODBUS Master, data logger, or RTU), Wiretap can 'listen' to the request and response traffic, grouping register addresses and values by MODBUS device IDs.

Wiretap - Network Connection Kit
Compatible with USB-A and USB-C laptop connections, this kit is designed to enable anyone using aderis Wiretap to scan a facility network and discover MODBUS TCP/IP enabled devices and then interrogate those devices for accessible registers instantly. This kit includes a 25' shielded Cat6 cable that is outdoor rated, waterproof, and UV rated allowing technicians to work from the comfort of their vehicle in adverse conditions.

Wiretap - USB Powered RS-485 to Network Polling Kit
Requiring two USB connections, and compatible with USB-A and USB-C laptop connections, this kit is designed to enable anyone using aderis Wiretap to connect to as many as three (3) MODBUS RTU device chains simultaneously for device and register interrogation. For standalone sensors that support 12Vdc control power, this kit includes a USB 5V to 12V step-up adaptor that is rated to power both the protocol converter and sensor without the need for a separate power supply.
